Forging Dynamic Partnerships · Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Your outsourced timber procurement arm in Malaysia. Door components, furniture components and mouldings — sourced, inspected and delivered to specification.
Strong supply chain
We work together to deliver results that build success. One accountable partner between you and Malaysia’s tropical timber supply base.
Consistent stock and availability across a vetted producer network — not a single mill’s output.
Carefully selected, precisely delivered. Moisture, dimension and grade checked before delivery.
Your production timeline is our priority. Delivery planned backwards from your own schedule.
We grow when you grow. Advisory, sampling and cost engineering come as part of the partnership.
Species we regularly supply: Merbau, Balau, Chengal, Kempas, Kekatong, Meranti, Nyatoh, Kembang Semangkuk, Keranji, Perah, Rengas and Merpauh.
What we supply
Door components, furniture components and mouldings — all run to your drawing, in the density group, species and grade your application needs.
Our largest programme, and the reason most customers come to us. Light, medium and heavy hardwood — the density group is chosen for where the part sits in the door, from a laminate door core to a fire door frame.
The stile and rail framework inside the door leaf — light to medium for laminate doors, high density for fire doors.
Frame and jamb sections in single or double rebate, or machined to your own drawing.
The strip of wood applied to the edges of a door, plus matching glazing bead, in your cutting lengths.
Panel and dressed stock for furniture, cabinet and joinery manufacturers — dimensionally stable, sanded and ready to machine.
Finger-jointed lamination board for table tops, worktops, panels and concealed core.
Surfaced four sides and cut to your section list — ready to feed straight into your machining.
Profile work in named species — for specifiers, flooring and decking contractors, interior fit-out, staircase makers and building material distributors.
Solid tongue-and-groove flooring in Malaysia’s hardest-wearing species.
Exterior decking in dense, naturally durable species built for the tropics.
Door and window casing profiles, matched to your frame sets for a complete package.
Wall and ceiling paneling profiles for interior fit-out and feature walls.
Staircase treads and step boards, laminated or solid, machined to your staircase drawing.
Need something outside this list? We regularly source other timber products from the Malaysian market on request — useful if you are consolidating a full shipment from one supplier. Tell us what you are after and we will tell you honestly whether we can do it well.
A profile drawing, a photo of the part, or even a physical sample is enough to start. We will come back with a buildable specification, samples and a costed proposal — usually with two or three options.
Material selection
Every part starts with a density group. We hold that specification constant and source the species that meets it and is running at the time.
| Density group | Kiln-dry density | Typical applications |
|---|---|---|
| Light Hardwood | Below 600 kg/m³ | FJ / FJLB board, paneling, laminate door core, lipping, S4S furniture partsLight Meranti, KSK, Merpauh and similar |
| Medium Hardwood | 600–750 kg/m³ | Door frames, architrave, mouldings, S4S, FJ / FJLB boardThe general-purpose band — stability with a clean finish |
| Heavy Hardwood | Above 750 kg/m³ | Door stiles and rails, door frames, decking, fire doorBalau, Keranji, Perah, Rengas, Chengal and similar |

On species: our range is deliberately broad and moves with the market. Rather than publish a fixed species list we cannot always honour, we match your application to the group and grade that performs — then quote the best-value species running at that time.
How we work
Expertise without the overhead. You brief the part; we handle sourcing, oversight, inspection and delivery — and stay accountable for all of it.
Send a drawing, a sample or just the application. We translate it into a buildable spec: section, density group, grade, moisture, jointing and tolerance.
We match the spec against mills currently running that species and section, then send samples and a costed proposal — usually with two or three options.
Orders are placed and monitored on the floor. We hold the mill to your profile and schedule so problems surface early — not when the lorry reaches your factory, or the container reaches your port.
Moisture, dimension, grade, joint integrity and treatment checked against our QAQC checklist before packing. Nothing leaves that we would not accept ourselves.
Packed, marked and delivered to your terms — by road to your factory in Malaysia, or by container with full export documentation, consolidated where it saves you freight.
Checked before delivery
Quality assurance
We enforce a documented QAQC procedure on our suppliers — the discipline of an ISO-certified production floor, applied by people who have run one.

About CEDA
CEDA Ventures is a Malaysia-based timber supply partner connecting tropical timber producers with door, furniture and construction material manufacturers across the region.
The company was formed in 2024, but the experience behind it is not new. Our directors have spent over twenty years in tropical timber — including years running a family-owned sawmilling and timber component operation. We have stood on the production floor and answered for the output, not only traded from a desk. That is why our quality process reads like a producer’s rather than a broker’s.
We represent quality Malaysian timber suppliers to the manufacturing market — giving manufacturers a single, reliable access point to a wide range of tropical timber species and components, without the complexity of managing multiple suppliers themselves.
Beyond supply we provide timber advisory, quality assurance and procurement support — effectively functioning as an outsourced timber procurement arm for manufacturers who want the expertise without the overhead.
We source responsibly and work transparently.
Proud member of the MWMJC The Malaysian Wood Moulding & Joinery Council — the national trade body for Malaysia’s moulding and joinery industry since 1981.
Common questions
The questions manufacturers and buyers put to us most often. If yours is not here, ask it directly — we will answer straight.
Tropical hardwood components across three verticals. Door components: core component (stile and rail), door frame, and lipping and beading. Furniture components: FJ/FJLB board and S4S dressed timber. Mouldings: flooring, decking, architrave, paneling and step board. All material is kiln-dried and chemically treated to the requirements of the application.
Yes. We deliver by road to manufacturers within Malaysia and by container to export buyers overseas, handling export documentation. Where it saves you freight we consolidate several product lines into a single shipment. Our head office is in Kuala Lumpur.
Finger-jointed laminated board is a solid timber panel made by joining short timber lengths end to end with interlocking finger joints, then edge-gluing those lengths into a wider board.
It uses shorter offcuts efficiently, is more dimensionally stable than a single wide board, and is widely used for door components, table tops, staircase step boards and furniture panels.
For mouldings the species are established: Merbau, Balau, Kempas and Kembang Semangkuk (KSK) for flooring; Chengal, Balau, Kekatong and Merbau for decking; Meranti, KSK and Nyatoh for architrave and paneling.
For door and furniture components we specify by density group rather than a fixed species list, because tropical availability moves with the market. Light hardwood is below 600 kg/m³, medium hardwood 600–750 kg/m³, and heavy hardwood above 750 kg/m³ on a kiln-dry basis. Tell us the part and we will tell you what is running now.
Yes. All material is kiln-dried to the moisture level the application requires — an interior furniture panel and an exterior decking board are not dried to the same figure — and chemically treated. Treatment documentation is provided where the destination market requires it.
Yes. Mouldings, frames and components are run to your own profile drawing, section sizes and cutting lengths. Door frames are available in single rebate, double rebate, or to your drawing. Send a drawing, a physical sample, or simply describe the application — we will translate it into a buildable specification and come back with samples and a costed proposal.
Grade depends on the component. Core component is supplied in Core grade; lipping and beading in Grade A; FJ/FJLB board in AA, AB or BC; and S4S dressed timber to the Malaysian Grading Rules (MGR).
Core grade is used for concealed parts where appearance is not critical, which takes cost out without affecting performance. We will usually suggest where you can drop a grade safely.
We enforce a documented QAQC procedure on our suppliers that the mill and our own team follow to the same checklist. Checks cover moisture content sampled across the lot, dimensional tolerance verified by caliper and tape, grade verification against the agreed grading rule, finger-joint and lamination bond integrity, kiln drying and chemical treatment verification, and packing and marking.
Typical acceptance criteria: one face clear allowing light scattered pinholes and light stain, with no delamination, large cracks or rot. Our directors previously ran a timber component manufacturing operation, so the procedure follows production discipline rather than trading practice.
A fire door core component is the internal timber framework of a fire-rated door leaf. We supply fire door cores in high density timber above 750 kg/m³ — typically Balau, Keranji, Perah or Rengas — finger-jointed for dimensional stability.
Laminate door cores use light to medium density timber below 600 kg/m³ such as light Meranti, KSK or Merpauh.
