About this product
The core component is the skeleton of a door leaf — the stiles running vertically and the rails running horizontally, with the infill between them. It never gets seen once the door is faced, which is precisely why it is supplied in Core grade: appearance is not the job, dimensional stability is.
Density is chosen for the door type. A laminate door core uses light to medium density timber below 600 kg/m³, typically light Meranti, KSK or Merpauh. A fire door core uses high density timber above 750 kg/m³ — Balau, Keranji, Perah or Rengas — because mass is what buys you time in a fire test.
